westmall

Westmall's only 5 mins away by bus from home.. but its not a place I frequent visit. Somehow I dont like the atmosphere there.

But I went today. Was trying to look for a breathing space during IE, yet not in the mood to travel further. Hence WM.

Wanted to buy my ink refill. That's the main motivation I went to WM, but there was none left. I was quite disguisted by the service level in Harvey Norman. First - I saw this guy swatting at the ink area SMSing, even when I was trying to see if the good I want is available. He didn't move an inch to help me, worst, BLOCKing my view. I had to speak out to get his attention after 2 solid minutes. G.O.S.H.. what's the service sector that Singapore's trying to promote again?! Then he asked a more senior guy to check out the ink for me.. then the senior guy SMSed while checking stocks for me. It was pathetic enough, and he told me "Oh sorry, no stock. But there's 2 in Bt. Panjang. You can try your luck there another day" HELLO?!!? I thought. What is this?! I asked if he could transfer the ink to this branch, and I'll PAY first and come and collect another day. He said No. Plain and direct.

My terrible Harvey Norman experience wasn't over. So I walked towards the exit, and this guy was selling printer. He started flirting with me. Seriously. What's wrong with these BAKAs?! I told him that the guy already checked that the good that I want is out of stock, and he said that he can check again especially for me... *roll eyes*

There's 2 interesting things that happened after this - One's good, the other not so.

The Good.

I went for dinner, and the tables were all occupied. So I asked if I could share table with this couple, and they signaled okay. Within seconds I realised that they communicate with sign languages, and I pretended to be as normal as possible so that they dont feel discriminated. But at the corner of my eye, I would *feel* a lot a lot of gestures going on, and the couple is simply not eating. More over, they were passing a HP to each other. I was wondering if they were SMSing with their friends or showing each other some pictures... Got a little bit curious... So I peeeeeeeeped over, and I saw something interesting. They were "talking" on the phone. Yes. They were talking on their Nokia N70 using 3G technology with sign languages. Suddenly, I felt really touched. This part of technology is so great, I thought. I feel so good. Somehow.. I thank technology for briding the technology gap. I thank technology for not only bringing convenience to "normal" people, but also bringing so much comfort to the physically challenged individuals. Salute to technology.

The Bad.
Someone bought a new pet - and was *playing torture* with it by shaking the cage NON stop for at 15 minutes I was looking.

Today is another interesting day.

I thank God for another good day.
